Program Note

The title refers to the temporal language of the piece, which explores a disparate relationship between
a series of tempi that become increasingly faster over time and the surface rhythm, which at times tends to slow the music down.

The first version of this piece was scored for piano, six hands and was commissioned by CBC Radio. This version for two pianos and percussion is dedicated to Toca Loca.
